Pedro Sanchez skips protocol making the monarchs wait

The President of the Government couldn't escape the "Resign!" screams from the Spanish crowds on the Military March for National Day in Spain.

October 12 is National Day in Spain, and every year a military parade is celebrated in Madrid with the participation of various military squads, government members, and the Royal Family. The military parade's purpose is to celebrate Cristopher Columbus's arrival to the Americas, an event that marked the beginning of the Spanish expansion over the world.

The protocol of the military parade indicates the Royal Family should be the last guests to arrive and the first to leave, but that isn't what happened. At last year's military parade, various people from the crowd screamed "Resign!", "Son of a bitch!", "Coward" and "Sanchez out!" to the President of the Government. These cries were even noticed by HM Queen Letizia.

During this year's parade, Pedro Sanchez arrived 5 minutes late to the military parade in order to avoid the jeering. However, this tactic didn't work since people repeated the screams from last year. Another downside to the strategy of staying in the car was that he made the monarchs wait for him during the military parade on the 12th of October.
