Between 2013 and 2016, "Sedena" made purchases from a company that simulated its operations because it did not have employees or infrastructure

The Mexican Army diverted 240.5 million pesos (about $ 14.8 million) to a shell company that conspired with other companies to make the goods it offered to the military agency more expensive. Between 2013 and 2016, during the Enrique Peña Nieto presidential term, the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) made purchases from DRM Aceros Internacional for alleged supplies for the production of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and military equipment. However, the tax authority determined in October 2018 that this was a shell company that simulated its operations because it did not have employees or infrastructure to market the goods.
López Obrador has maintained that Sedena is one of the least corrupt institutions, despite the fact that the Superior Audit of the Federation - the supervisory body in Mexico - has documented the irregularities of the military in the public works that have been under its execution.
According to the investigation, the company was created in 2013 and, just two months after its birth, it had already signed a millionaire contract with Sedena. And to finish grinding it, the Superior Audit of the Federation found that DRM Aceros had partnered with other companies to increase the price of the products they sold.
