Between good vibes and buddy speeches, President López Obrador finally visited Donald Trump in Washington.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador arrived in the US capital from Tuesday night. And yesterday, in the morning, he went straight to the monuments to Abraham Lincoln and Benito Juárez, where he deposited a floral offering. Moments later, AMLO returned to the official residence in Mexico to await his encounter with Donald Trump.

The presidents met privately in the Oval Office where they discussed issues such as the entry into force of the Mexico, United States and Canada Treaty, as well as support during the pandemic. After the private meeting, his delegations had a meeting and López Obrador signed the White House book of distinguished visitors.

After all the private events, the leaders went out to the Rose Garden of the White House to give a speech. What did they say? Trump started by saying that relations between Mexico and the United States have never been as close as now and, to the surprise of many, the US president said that the 36 million Mexicans living in his country are "incredible people, very hard-working".
